Newton's laws in Software...

Today's mantra by 1008 Antaryami Topi waale Baba (registered trademark)

Now we all know about the great Scientist Mr. Newton who gave us 3 laws of motion... When I analysed them deeply, I figured out that those laws hold true in software field too... I hope someone recognize my contribution and give me Nobel Award for this... So dear friends, here i present before you the 3 laws of Software:

1. Any software application will continue to work smoothly till you touch it. Never try to improve upon any application which has been working smoothly. You will never succeed and you will end up degrading it...

2. The amount of bugs and degrading depends on the level of improvements planned... If you want to improve performance drastically, the application will give you severe headaches... End result will be more drastic...

3. To every change planned, there will be equal number of bugs introduced...

Hope you will understand these mantras and will never try to take up any improvement activity in any application which is working in whichever way...

-Janhit main jaari... apne sab jaan pehchaan waalon main ye soochna faila dijiye...

Main aur Meri Tanhai

tanhai, my sweetheart... am again with you... for how long I could be far away from you... for how long I can avoid you... for how long can I resist you... I have to finally give up again, for the umpteenth time... I tried everything to keep myself busy... joined health club... tried my hand at guitar... Chirkutting most of the time of the day... bugging other team members whenever I am free... or chatting on yahoo.... or if nothing else i write a blog... most of the days i dont get time even to breathe, but I dont know how somehow you find ways to come near me... Again I am feeling some emptiness in my life... a feeling where there is no purpose of life... feeling when you thing you are alone in this world... I hate to love this feeling... I dont know how to get rid of you...

But let me also tell you one thing... I will again desert you... You cant be in touch with me for long... Somehow I will manage to throw you out... You also know this is a never ending battle... kabhi tum.. kabhi main... tab tak hum aur tum aapas main baatein karenge... guzre din yaad karenge... :)

Will miss ya...

...Sanhita... today came to know from a friend that she has met with a tragic accident in Chennai and has succumbed to injuries... She was one of the few people who has made my Infy training at Bhubaneswar memorable... her fun loving and carefree attitude... chit chats during the day... enjoing coffee every morning... still remember the Diwali we all celebrated together at BBSR... she was the one who did 'pooja' at my place... Though the interaction with her was not much after the postings but we did have chats at times and call each other on special occassions and festivals... her absence will definitely be felt... will miss ya Sanhita... May her soul rest in peace...

For lazy bums... thought of the day

Today's mantra by 1008 Topi waale baba (registered trademark)

Now this post is for the lazy guys (gals also included) like me who like to achieve things in life but dont want to work hard to get them... Now people dont get disheartened whenever things seem to be going higher than what you can achieve... Me also used to get depressed untill I read Newton's Law on gravity... A great physicist who invented gravity and a law when he was hit by an falling apple... Its another matter sometimes I think of making a suit out of it... then I will have a lawsuit... Now dont tell me that I am digressing from topic.. how can we not discuss about Newton who is my inspiration for achieving things...

Now he said or wrote or told that any thing which goes up will definitely come down... This is called Newton's law of gravity... So I also believe that if I would like to get a thing and it seems to go up my range, I just wait n watch... coz my guru cant be wrong and it will come down.. Once it comes down, the you can grab it... So why to spend that extra effort on trying for that.. instead relax and spend time in doing quality work like sleeping, snoring, day dreaming... So dudes and dudesses, just chillax... you will get what you want... just give it a time...

Kandisa

Yes... You guessed it right... This is about Indian Ocean, India's biggest and most widely known band... I first heard songs from this band's album 'Kandisa' at a friend's place... but after that day I became a fan of this band... Would you believe me if I say I used to listen to this single song 'Kandisa' in office for days.. Some people call me crazy... One thing I like about this band is that they put stress on music... infact most of the songs you will find are without much lyrics... And they present a perfect blend between modern music and sufi music of past... Or in other words a fusion band...

I came to know on Orkut that this band is performing live in NYC... I booked the tickets... And I was there with some friends... It was in a restaurant cum bar and some guys came up with idea of sitting on the floor... so all followed suit and there all were sitting on the floor in NYC... reminded me of india wen i used to go for listenin to pravachans.. :)

The band started with a prayer om sahanaavavatu, sahanau bhunaktu.... beautifully sung by Asheem... Infact his voice hits you at mind... You are just lost in the music... searching for yourself... I was sitting on the chair but soon I find myself joining the people sitting on the floor... Then there was a song on Shiva's Tandav... Infact I get to know the meaning behind most of the songs at concert only... Then Jhini Jhini... Ma rewa... Hille Le... Leaving Home (Tum tum nana.. tum nana)... All were presented with perfect blend.. Then in between there was a jugalbandi between flute by Amit and tabla by Asheem... sometimes between Guitar by Sushmit and flute....

And how can I not mention the song Boll Weavil presented in a unique way, so different from the album... Asheem was using Rahul's electric guitar as tabla... and the sound of it... Must say it was the best performance of the day... Each one was dancing(of course while sitting) and swaying to the tunes.... The energy which the band exudes in presentation is tremendous...

After the break there was the song from Black friday... Bandeh... This song touches you at heart.. there is a force in Rahul's voice which strikes you at , you know where... And how can the show be complete without the 'Kandisa'... song which made them famous... I got to know the origins of the song... Thats another thing, I still dont understand the language it is sung in... :D.... And that was the last performance of the day....

All in all a wonderful concert and live performance... If you haven't listened to this band, I recommend you to listen atleast once to the songs... Especially the songs Kandisa, Bandeh and Ma Rewa.... you wont be disappointed... :)

HaDtAaL !!!

There are no water bottles in Office.. Strike kar do... Salary is not good... Hatdaal kar do... Clinet is not providing basic amenities... Lets go on Strike... then we will see who manages their systems... haha... thats what my first response is whenever i see something reasonable which is not happenning... haha.. just kiddin... but yeah that what I say frequently... I was wondering about the roots of this term in my life... yeah.. it was in college... during my engineering days... just joined the college... and few things happenned and students agreed to go for a strike... so that was my first experience with HADTAAL... yaani ki 'tool down'... so just sitting outside college and doing nothing... being a new college, management intervened and few small demands were met... hehe... you know now what it will lead to...

Next semester... were not interested in exams... few had to go home for vacations... so result... Strike... hehe... ended without much fuss but our purpose was fulfilled... Then Semester after semester, we used to have atleast one strike... Once it went 2 long... we also did some naarebaazi... walking 1 km shoutin against college management and our college was talk of town... yippie.. we were famous... Cause of Strike was always decided after going on 'hadtaal'... Anyways we always had 2-3 issues which management never agreed to... which used to be at top,...

Though wasnt a frontrunner.... but always used to support strike... atleast only then we mechies used to have some work...we always used to njoi sitting outside college... sippin tea ... munching garam garam samosas... go for movies... used to be fun... sometimes management agrees to our demands ... sometimes we had management giving us dhamki about sessional marks.. some students used to walk out but then it used to be more fun discussin their loyalties... Best Demand met was that we were able to have college working days reduced to 4 in a week... atleast for final year students...And our juniors also used to enjoi it a lot... even now when I meet any, the first thing they say is that we miss you because now there are no more 'HADTAALS' in college...

so whenever someone says that we should be provided this facility, i say 'chalo strike karte hai'... :D... currently i am looking for someone who is ready to sit on Bhookh Hadtaal... then we might take up some important cause.. that we will decide once we have an appropriate resource... We are even thinking of outsourcing this as per the Industry trend...

If you are interested in above post, kindly send your detailed resume at the address given nowhere... Experienced resource will be given preference... yaani ki khana bhi kaho and strike pe bhi ho, iska experience hona chahiye... :P

15 Park Avenue

Just the other day I was reading a blog by a friend on 'Rape' and it reminded me of the movie 15 Park Avenue. The movie was not interesting... It was never intended to be... But there was something in that which kept you glued to your seat... It was slow paced with no events happenning... But while watchin it, you will feel something is soon going to happen...

Konkana Sen, of whom i became a fan after watchin Page 3, acted superbly, nah this word wil undermine her effort... she portrayed the character very efficiently... A girl who did things only to make her lover happy was raped by few goons... she went to cover news and what she got in return... for what.. just to establish supremacy... of man over woman... what kind of tactics are these... while watching the movie, i was feeling ashamed of being a man... is this how we are supposed to show supremacy... i felt that this is the job of a coward who cant beat a woman in the game... in life... will forcefully having sex puts us higher? Why dont we understand it ruins the life... not one... not 2... but many lives... In the movie, other than Konkana, her mother.. her fiance... her sister... all were affected... her life was tattered... she just kept thinkin of her life had she wud have been married... she kept of thinkin of kids she wud have had... movie portrayed brilliantly what could happen... it also showed how a man reacts when he gets to know that her loved one was raped... Rahul Bose just left her to fend for herself... instead of supporting her to overcome trauma, he just ran away from responsibilities... he was more guilty than the rapists...

my frend felt that the movie ended abruptly... she just got lost... and her family kept looking for her... he was cursing the director... but I feel that we need to come out of age where movie has a happy ending... we should understand that such stories never have any ending... it just goes on... how can there be an ending... it just want to make you ponder... and makes you think... The movie left an lasting impression on me... hope we soon have a age where it will be safer for woman to venture out freely without worrying about so-called male supremacy.... :-/
